Police and detectives form a part of an investigation team and head the agency to find out the truths, facts about different cases involving crime and civil cases with sufficient scientific proofs. They have flat hierarchical structure and are headed by chief investigator or a director. They are also responsible for supervision of criminals who are just released from prison so that they do not carry out any activities against the law. They supervise certain communities in certain states and make sure that no additional crimes are committed by people who are under the police scanner.
Apart from criminal supervision, detectives also train and educate people, provide job training, so that such citizens become productive to the country. They also appear at court hearings, conduct background investigations, etc. In investigations involving crime, police and detectives are responsible for producing evidence in courts and seeking information.
