Millwrights

Who is a Millwrights and what does he/she do?

A millwright is involved in the construction and design of machinery parts and maintenance. Some are specialists in fields like carpentry, agriculture, food processing, lumbering, etc. Experienced millwrights often set up as independent businesses and tie up with farmers to help in food processing. They need to have knowledge about materials and mechanical engineering.
They must be able to read designs and blueprints for prioritizing work procedures. Their other responsibilities include machine maintenance, lubrication, preventive maintenance, seal and bearing replacements, etc. They also find scope in power generation for maintaining turbines and machinery with layout plans, and other industrial equipments.

Qualifications Required

M.Eng. or a Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in mechanical engineering or even an accredited BSc degree in mechanical or materials engineering
