Who is a Receptionist and what does he/she do?

A receptionist basically arranges and systematizes things which contain valuable information and data & which can prove handy over a long period of time. The information that is preserved can be in any form such as online, physical documents like electronic records, recordings, etc. Apart from data preservation, their other responsibilities include, attending calls, providing in depth information to the employees, supporting the staff, answer queries and deal with the same from public and consumers, prepare documents and provide other administrative and clerical support.

Receptionists find their scope in various industries including telecommunications, retail, hospitality, marketing, logistics, people management, and information systems. They are required to have skills sets like communication skills, systematization and organizing skills, interpersonal skills, administrative skills, etc.

Qualifications Required

A master's or a graduate or diploma degree in subjects such as administrative or clerical procedures
