Agronomist

Who is a Agronomist and what does he/she do?

An Agronomist deals with the study of agronomy which is the scientific method of using plants, for various purposes like food, water, fuel, etc. It involves application of science and technology to agricultural products and food processing technology. It combines the branch of plant and biological sciences, and also includes mechanical, chemical & civil engineering practices with ground knowledge in agricultural synthesis.
Agronomist involves in various activities including food & crop production, maintenance and preservation, animal production including poultry, fish and dairy management, bio resource engineering which involves the use of machines at a molecular level. Agricultural engineers are involved in energy conservation like water supply, use of renewable resources like solar and wind power, etc and soil resources, hydrology and farm design, other agricultural mechanisms, etc.

Qualifications Required

A bachelor's degree in farming, agricultural engineering, subjects such as the history of art, anthropology, archaeology, or the classics. Other courses one can consider include public history, museum studies, arts management or curatorial practice.
