Who is a Astronomer and what does he/she do?

An astronomer is a scientist who studies the behaviour of celestial bodies, like solar system, stellar evolution & death, galaxies and its behaviour, the cosmos, etc. They study the effect of particles in space like behaviour of light an sound in space.

Astronomers have to be highly skilled and experimental in numerous subjects like thermodynamics to understand the nature of stellar bodies like stars and it's formation, movement of galaxies, collision with other galaxies, discovery of new outrebound objects like exo planets, other planetary systems; astro physics in order to understand as to whether the laws of sciences are applicable to space sciences, astro chemistry in order to understand the chemical composition of heavenly bodies.

Astronomers are also required to be skilled in handling scientific instruments like radio telescopes, astronomical clocks and chronometers, and optical instruments.

Qualifications Required

A master's or a PhD degree in subjects such as Astronomy and Space sciences
