Ecologist

Who is a Ecologist and what does he/she do?

A person who studies the relationship between plants, animals and their surrounding environment is called an ecologist. Also they help other peoples to understand and take care of the natural world that we live in.

This is also, one of the most adventurous, interesting, and challenging jobs, as each and every day brings a new change in the field with a change in environment, plants, and animals. Ecologist, basically carry out research work to prepare field studies related to the existing and upcoming questions about the environment. As an example, an ecologist studies the consequences or impact on environment by building a check dam near a densely forested area. The ecologist would study the change in environment, and then evaluate the impact of its effect on individual species, plants, as well as on the ecosystem as a whole. Also a field study is not the only thing that an ecologist does, they also read and analyze the research work conducted by other ecologists, and they use computer simulations. They create reports based on the data from their studies, and make recommendations and prediction in environmental change based on that data.

Qualifications Required

No specific graduate degree is required to study the nature or assist in zoo, nature center or summer camp. For teaching in k-12 schools college education is required, and a master's degree or a doctoral degree is required for universities.

Ecologist with some experience may earn around rs symbol 1,646,800 or $ 32936 to rs symbol 2,038,850 or $ 40777 per year.
