A medical scientist is a person who is an expert in both medicine and science.
They undertake research work with an aim to improve the quality of human life. They mainly research on human diseases and health conditions. Most of the medical scientists carry out biomedical research and development to advance knowledge of life processes, and some other organisms such as viruses, infectious agents, and bacteria that affect human health. On the basis of past researches, they have discovered treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of many diseases, which has been highly beneficial to human life. Scientists are constantly working to discover new vaccines, treatment procedures and drugs. Medical scientists are involved in clinical investigation, technical writing, drug development, regulatory review, and related activities. They also conduct independent research in hospitals, universities, or government laboratories to explore new areas of research or expand the research that they started in graduate school.
