Who is a Occupational therapist and what does he/she do?

A person who evaluates the work, play, self-care, and performance skills of individuals is called an occupational therapist. Occupational therapists evaluate and implement programs to complete daily tasks.

The core function of occupational therapy is to enable people to perform purposeful and meaningful occupations. One can define an occupation as, "active process of living: from the beginning till the end of life", and it includes all active processes of looking after ourselves, and others, being socially and economically productive in various contexts, and enjoying life. Occupational therapists usually work with families, groups, individuals, communities, and organizations for well being and good health.

Qualifications Required

As an Occupational therapist you should have GCSE passes (or equivalent), and two A levels. It is necessary to pass at least one science subject at these levels. Some universities also require a level of biology.
