KERALA CEE (KERALA ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS - MEDICAL)

Introduction

Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Examination (KEAM) is conducted on the behalf of the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Kerala. The students who want to earn a degree in engineering / agriculture / medical / architecture take this examination, in general.

KEAM contains a wide no. of subjects, but students have to take the subject of their choice as per requirement and eligibility criteria. The students want to earn a B.Tech / B.Arch. / B.Pharm degree has to choose the test subject of their choice as per requirement and eligibility criteria.

Admission to different engineering / technological disciplines is made on the basis of merit ranking of the candidate in the Combined Engineering Entrance (CEE) Kerala.

Eligibility

(A) Nativity:
Applicant should be an Indian citizen. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders will be treated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission.
Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Applicants of Kerala origin will be categorized as ‘Keralites’ and others will be categorized as ‘Non-Keralites’.Non-Keralites are classified as ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ and ‘Non-Keralite Category-II’.
(a) Keralites:-
A candidate of Kerala origin will be categorized as a Keralite. A candidate will be considered as a ’Keralite’, for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission. Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala cadre are deemed to be ‘Keralites’. However, they will not be eligible for Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation. Such Candidates should produce a certificate from the competent authority showing that the parent of the candidate is an AIS officer allotted to Kerala cadre.
(b) Non-Keralite Category I (NK I):
A candidate who is not of Kerala origin, but fulfils anyone of the following conditions will be categorized as 'Non-Keralite Category I'(NK I).
(i) A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non- Keralite parents belong to Government of India/Defence Service, posted to Kerala.
(ii) A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non- Keralite parents who are serving/served Government of Kerala for a minimum period of two years.
(iii) A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin, but has been a resident of Kerala State for a period of 5 (five) years within the period of 12(twelve) years.
(iv) A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but who has undergone his/her school studies in Kerala from standard VIII to XII.
(c) Non-Keralite Category-II (NK II) :-
Candidates who do not belong to the ‘Keralite’ or ‘Non- Keralite Category-I’ will be treated as ‘Non-Keralite Category-II'. They are eligible for admission ONLY to the ‘State Merit’ seats in the Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges in the State and in the Management Quota seats in Self-financing Engineering institutions under Government control. They will not be considered for admission against Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation seats.
(B) Academic Qualification:
(i) For MBBS/BDS Courses, the criteria of eligibility [Academic/NEET(UG)- 2013] will be as notified by the CBSE for NEET(UG)-2013/Medical Council of India (MCI) from time to time.
(ii) For admission to other Medical Courses (BAMS, BSMS, BHMS):
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. In the absence of Biology, Biotechnology will be considered for the courses BAMS and BSMS.

ended at 5pm on 08-02-2013.

Exam Centers

Entrance Examinations will be conducted at the following centres only. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod, New Delhi and Dubai.

• Online submission of application is required to apply for the Entrance Examinations/Allotments for admission to all the courses (Medical, Engineering and Architecture). Candidates should send only one application for all courses under KEAM 2013 and for MBBS & BDS (NEET – UG). If a candidate submits more than one application his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled.
• All candidates are required to apply online through the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in for the Entrance Examinations/Allotments for admission to Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary, Fisheries, Engineering and Architecture Courses.
• Application Fee : General candidates - Rs.700/-
