An Administrative Assistant basically manages office functions and forms the source of general information to the management. Administrative assistants need to possess excellent writing and communication skills and good knowledge on computers like word processing programs for better office productivity.
Administrative assistants find their scope in various industries including telecommunications, retail, hospitality, marketing, logistics, people management, and information systems. They are also responsible for preparing strategies for successful competition in an industry. Administrative assistants plan, co ordinate and implement plan of action for the supervision of logistic activities, through administrative and clerical duties to run a company effectively. Some of their duties include documents & records management, archiving, faxing, maintaining electronic documents, data entry, research, etc.
