Who is a Town, Urban and Regional Planner and what does he/she do?

Town, urban and regional planning is one of the ancient systematic practices used since time immemorial. It includes urbanization of towns and cities, improving the infrastructure of living, proper landscaping and maintaining the hygienic conditions of places of dwelling. It relates to application of natural science like application of laws of physics, and laws of nature. It also encompasses the scientific study of social sciences, which in turn used to study the behavioral patterns of human behavior and adaptability to the surroundings.

Civilizations like Harrapan, Egyptian, & Mesopotamian witnessed aggressive methods for town planning which included landscaping, urban development, better infrastructure, etc. They are also responsible for tackling emergency situations like natural calamities like earthquakes and volcanoes by providing adequate infrastructural facilities and proper planning of towns, cities and villages.
