Dentist

Who is a Dentist and what does he/she do?

Dentistry is a branch of medicine, dealing with surgical and non-surgical treatment of oral related diseases. A person specializing in dentistry is commonly referred to as a ‘dentist’.

They deal with other surgical related surgeries such as endoscopic related ailments, thyroid diagnosis, restorative techniques and exodontias etc. Many specialty subjects exist in dentistry such as endodontic, oral pathology and radiology, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontrics etc. Board certified examinations are provided only for qualified dentists throughout the world. There are several other dentist related courses, where no official University training is required such as implant in dentistry, cosmetics, forensic etc.

Qualifications Required

A bachelor's degree and a doctoral degree from dentistry program is mandatory.
